UK Honda Civic Hybrid Euro NCAP Crash Test Ratings
The UK Civic Hybrid scored 4 stars for child and occupant protection and 3 starts for pedestrian protection.
The Civic Hybrid's results have been anticipated throughout Europe where fleet buyers and consumers are increasing using lower CO2 emissions and higher safety scores to determine their purchasing decisions.
Testers found that, while the "passenger compartment remained stable during the impact, there was insufficient pressure in the airbag to prevent the dummy's head for making contact with the steering wheel. Structures in the dashboard presented a risk of injury."
In contrast, the US Civic Hybrid had 5 stars for frontal crash tests. Although, the Euro NCAP crash tests are tested differently than the US NHTSA/IIHS way of testing.
