BREAKING NEWS: Honda Continues its Latest Recall Campaign with Accord/Pilot models

Honda is recalling 10 800 Accord Sedans and Pilot SUVs to prevent possible front suspension failure. This recall covers 2010-2011 Accord sedans and 2011 Pilot SUVs in the US. Honda will be recalling 442 Pilot SUVs in Canada but will not be recalling any Accords. The problem is fixated upon machinery that is used to tighten nuts on the vehicles' front axles. On the Pilot, there is a damper attachment bracket bolt problem that could cause these mechanisms to fail, a flaw in the equipment software on Honda's Alabama assembly plant was found and identified earlier this month. What they will do is inspect the problem areas and if needed, replace the spindle nuts and replace the front bracket bolts. Honda will notify owners this week and repairs will be done at Honda dealers.

Honda Passport Recall

Honda is recalling 35,000 of its Passport SUVs due to rear suspension problems. Honda wants to double check the brackets on the rear suspension that could detach from the frame and lead to a possible accident. About 30 complaints have been reported. California is not included in this recall batch, all drivers are asked to visit their local dealer for more information. 

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: ANOTHER HONDA CIVIC RECALL

This time, only 2006 CANADIAN Honda Civic Hybrids are affected. These were 908 cars affected, all sold in Canada.

Transport Canada Recall Statement: On certain vehicles, excessive amounts of silicon grease were applied to the telescoping mechanism of the steering column during vehicle assembly. As a result, oil can separate from the grease and may fall onto the brake light switch. This can cause the brake light to fail; it may not be possible to shift the transmission from the Park position; and/or the stop lamps may fail to illuminate. Dealers will replace the brake light switch and connector housing, and install a cover to prevent oil from damaging the switch.

BREAKING NEWS: HONDA CIVIC RECALL LARGER THAN EXPECTED

The Honda Civic recall has now apparently is in effect for Canadians, Mexicans, and possibly around the world where they sell the Honda Civic/Acura CSX Sedans but India is not affected by this recall.

2006/2007 Honda Civic Coupe/Sedan and Acura CSX/CSX Type-S in Canada are affected by this recall. A total of 93,706 vehicles in Canada are affected by this recall.

Transport Canada Recall Statement: On certain vehicles, an ABS wheel speed sensor O-ring seal may allow water to enter the rear wheel bearing and eventually cause damage, especially in areas that use road salt. In time, the bearing could loosen and overheat, which could cause a wheel to separate from the vehicle. Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the ABS sensor O-ring seals and rear wheel bearings.

Honda Civic Recall

Honda is recalling more than 182,000 2006/2007 Honda Civics because the wheels are prone to fall off. The trouble comes from a leaky O-ring in the wheel speed sensor in wich water could damage the wheel bearing which could result in one of the four wheels falling off. Owners of the affected Civics can expect a note in the mail from Honda, offering to fix the problem and replace any damaged parts.

Honda Japan Recall

Honda announced it will recall 63,000 cars in Japan for faulty brake switches and speedometers. The recall involves 22,881 Civic and Civic Hybrid produced between September 2005 and December 2006 as well as 40,218 Stream manufactured between July 2006 and January 2007. Honda reported a total 155 incidents stemming from the faulty brake switch problem caused by excessive amount of lubricating oil applied and the inappropriate programming of a computer program which controls the speedmeters. There were no accidents.
Honda recalled a total 20,000 Civic and Civic Hybrid in the U.S. and Australia for the same problems on August 30.
