Papertake Weekly - Getting Cute
Hi everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful start to your week! We went to see Harry Potter yesterday and it was awesome! I went with my oldest daughter and son (we're all Harry Potter freaks - LOL!) It's so sad though, knowing that this is the last one. So anyway, it's time for a new challenge from Dawny at Papertake Weekly, and this week it's "Getting Cute". This challenge is being sponosred by Wendy's Digital Delights. For my card this week, I totally fell in love with Dawny's card HERE, and CASEd it. Thanks (as always) for the wonderful inspiration, Dawny!
I colored this little cutie hAnglar & stAnglar about a month ago, and have been wanting to use her on a card. Usually I work the other way around, pick the papers and then color the image. It's so much easier that way! This layout was a Papertake Challenge a couple weeks ago that I missed, and I so love Dawny's sketches! So I simply utitlized it for this weeks challenge. She's colored with Copic markers and then cut out and popped up off the panel. The DP's are from Nitwit Collections matted with Bazzill cardstock. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon is May Arts from Stamp and Create, as is the charm. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and cut out with Nestabilities. I machine stitched the panels, and added a couple buttons from my stash. I've had some of you ask questions about my stitching and how I do it. I use a cheap machine I bought from Sears about three or four years ago (It's a Kenmore brand). It only does a couple stitches, but all I wanted was straight and zig zag so the lack of fancy stitches was not important to me. It only cost me about 70 bucks, and it's probably the best 70 bucks I've ever spent. It is constantly used, and the stitches always look fabulous.
So that's it for me today! Please pop over to Papertake Weekly to see all the wonderful inspiration, and then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
This card is for sale in my Etsy shop if you're interested!

Paperplay Challenges - Anything but a card
Hi everyone! I'm back from my week with my family which went WAY too quickly. I miss everyone already. We brought JJ (our grandson) back with us to spend the next four weeks. So needless to say my hands will be full for a while. He's getting so big and growing up way too quickly, which they all do. But it seems so much more apparant when you don't get to see them all the time. Anyway, it's time for a new challenge from Paperplay Challenges. They have a brand new sponsor, La-La Land Crafts! They generously offered the DT some images to play with, but unfortunately I wasn't able to get one done since I've been out of town.
For my "anything but a card" challenge, I created a tag using one of the hAnglar & stAnglar images. She's colored with Copic markers and then popped up from the tag. The papers are from Nitwit Collections, the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the ribbon is May Arts Silk from Stamp and Create. That's it for me today! Please be sure and pop over to Paperplay Challenges and we'd love it if you'd play along with us! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Fun and Exciting news!!
Hi everyone! I hope you're having a fabulous week! I'm really excited as I've been invited to join Sandie and the amazingly talented team over at Paperplay Challenges, and this is my first card for them! Today's challenge, "At The Beach", was chosen by our wonderful Mandy and is being sponsored by...wait for it....Just Inklined!!! I love that company!! Sure wish I had a chance to win! LOL! Anyway, I'm super happy to join the talented team of designers at Paperplay!
For my card, I used one of my brand new images from the Sweet Rainbow collection from Magnolia-licious. She's #353 Sweetie Tilda, and they named her appropriately as she is indeed a sweetie! I paper pieced her dress and colored the rest of her with Copic markers. Sorry I don't have the list of markers I used on this one. I also used the background stamp #655 Romantic sunset. Both of these images are in stock right now over at Magnolia-licious! The DP is from Nitwit Collections Summer Splash, and it's matted with Bazzill cardstock. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ticket is from a set from Whimsy, and the yummy ribbon is from Stamp and Create.
So that's it for my card. I hope you pop over to Paperplay Challenges and check out all the lovely pojects from the rest of the design team. Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us! You might get lucky and win a voucher to Just Inklined!! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!

Papertake Weekly - Dad and lads
Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday! It's time for another new challenge from Papertake Weekly and this week the challenge is Dads and lads! With Father's Day right around the corner, it's the perfect time for you to get your cards made and be able to join in the challenge too! We're being sponsored this week by Whiff of Joy. For my card, I used this adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Harvard. Isn't he so adorable?? My grandson Chris graduated from Kindergarten last week, so I just had to use this cute little guy on his card. He's colored up with Copic markers.
Being a card for a young man, of course I had to refrain from all the ribbon and flowers. so I kept everything nice and simple, but tried to add lots of interest using bright colors and placing everything a little wonky on the card. I cut the A+ with my Cricut Expression using my Gypsy to weld the shadow of the two together, then cutting and popping up the top layer of them. The papers are from Nitwit Collections matted with Bazzill cardstock. I wrapped some PTI twine around one of the layers and tied it in a simple little bow. All the panels are machine stitched. The "let's celebrate" stamp is from an old Kim Hughes set and I stamped it on some school paper that is actually on my printer. I just printed it on cardstock. I wish I had taken a picture of the inside top cause I put a cute Kim Hughes owl wearing a little grad cap on another piece of the school paper. It turned out really cute, but I didn't capture it with a pic.
So that's it for my card this week. Please be sure to hop over to Papertake Weekly to see the rest of the fabulous creations by the design team. Then we'd love it if you'd grab your paper and glue and play along with us for a chance to win a wonderful prize from Whiff of Joy! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!
