According to a regulatory filing, American Honda Motor Company has spent exactly $623041 on lobbying for the Cash for Clunkers program, hydrogen fuel cells, aftermarket repair industry issues and other automotive issues during the second quarter of this year. Along with the above, Honda also lobbied on legislation that would provide safety standards for alerting the blind on silent vehicles, aka hybrids and electric cars and lobbied for funding in creating and supporting projects that were associated with hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles.
Honda has long emphasized the use of hydrogen fuel technology and is currently offering limited leasing in Southern California of the FCX Clarity, Honda's fuel-cell sedan. In July 2009, Congress moved to restore $190 million dollars to funding for hydrogen research, despite questions from the Obama administration over their practicality.
