Honda Raises Its Car Production Capacity

Honda plans to raise its car production capacity to about 4.7 million units a year in 2010 while keeping the actual output smaller to better deal with unexpected demand increases such as the Honda Fit. Honda is planning to actually prduce a sell 4.5 million cars in 2010. The plan would mark a shift in Honda's strategy, as Honda has been producing nearly at full capacity. With demand for cars growing fast in newly emerging economies and changes in market trends becoming more rapid, Honda is trying to create a more flexible production system.
