Honda Civic again Canada's Best Selling Passenger Car for July 2007
The 2007 Honda Civic topped Canadian sales of passenger cars for July. What's also interesting about this list is for the first time, import brands emerged into the top ten list of light trucks with such vehicles like the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV-4. Entry-level vehicles were up 2.1% in a flat market, a continuation of the trend that developed more than a decade ago. Consumers are still moving away from the middle of the market, with midsize family vehicles down 3.7%. This size of vehicle has lost almost 20 points of market share over the last decade and now accounts for only a third of the market. The figures show that, if fleet sales are taken out of the equation, retail consumers purchased almost 60 per cent entry-level vehicles this year, with midsize family vehicles down in the 20 per cent range.
