Mag-X reports that the new Fit/Jazz will debut in Japan in October 2007. The JAPANESE Fit/Jazz will have both the 1.3L and 1.5L VTEC engines, the 1.3L will make 100hp and have similar or better fuel economy than the current 1.3L i-DSi. The designer for this next Fit/Jazz will be the same that designed the current European Civic hatchback so expectations are high. There will be no significant change in size but it will be slightly longer and wider: 3.900 x 1690 m (current Fit/Jazz is 3.845 x 1.675) and be developed within the centre-tank platform. The Japanese version will have a "sky-roof" similar to the current European Civic hatchback.
On and all this information is for Japan only but expect Europe to have a similar features e.g. skyroof and 1.3L engine compared to Japan. But for North America and possible other smaller countries, those two features may not be feasible and enough for the market.
In other news, in the same Mag-X magazine, it states that Fukui didn't like two different cars in the world to share the same Accord name and that they are considering a name change for the Euro/Japanese model (Acura TSX).
