Once again for the sixth consecutive month and 8th consecutive year, the Civic is Canada's Best Selling Passenger Car.
Sales charts show that, over the last two years, subcompact unit sales have not been affected by the federal government's rebate on fuel-efficient vehicles; while the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit had sales spikes, the segment overall is behaving as it usually does. "We said on day one that the 'feebate' would fail miserably; four months into the program we are being proven to be right," he says.
The top ten best-selling passenger vehicles in Canada in June were, in order, the Honda Civic, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Yaris, Chevrolet Cobalt, Toyota Camry, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Pursuit/G5, Ford Focus, and Toyota Matrix. Year-to-date, the top ten are the Honda Civic, Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Yaris, Chevrolet Cobalt, Toyota Camry, Pontiac Pursuit/G5, Ford Focus, Toyota Matrix, and Nissan Versa.
