In a recent interview with Takeo Fukui, he expects that a fuel-cell car possibly the FCX to be on sale by 2018. Nissan is reporting a fuel-cell car also to be on sale but in the early 2010s. The new Honda FCX is going real-world testing in 2008 but why wait a decade? The long timeline is due to the fact that production and storage of hydrogen are still a major problem for automakers. Honda's research also showed that they would have to make the fuel-cell car less than $84 000 US to make it palatable to buyers.
I'd like it at $25 000 US please.
