This is the European version of the Honda Accord before the Acura TSX version. Honda decided to make its Honda Accord more upscale so this is the last affordable Honda mid-size sedan in the millenium. However the Accord didn't fare well in rating because of the rivals like Toyota Avensis and the current model targets the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes C180 leaving a hole in Honda's lineup no matter what the pricing is. |
European Honda Accord (1999-2004 version)
Honda Capa
This is the rear end of the Honda Capa and it looks minivan-ish and SUV-ish. The Honda Capa is now called the Honda Life. |
Honda Avancier
This is another picture of the Honda Avancier which is based on the Civic and has a very Acura CL-like front end. |
Honda Civic 3-dr
This is a drawing of the next 3-dr Civic. It looks a lot like a 5-dr Civic without the rear doors and a longer rear window. The Civic Type-R Concept has shown the 3-dr Civic with all the Type-R things on it. |
Next-generation Honda Fit/Jazz
Honda hasn't even introduced the Fit in the states (a week yet) and there are tons of drawings of the next Honda Fit/Jazz. The first and third drawing illustrations look a lot like the front end of a StepWGN. I don't think the second picture is quite right because it looks like a Scion.
Next-generation Honda Prelude
UPDATE: There is speculation that Honda may replace the S2000 with the Prelude. |
Honda Civic Convertible
There are rumors planning that there will be a successor to the Del Sol Convertible. The Civic convertible would be a competitor to the Mazda MX5 and the Pontiac Solstice. However Honda will have to think about the convertible soft-top problems that glitched the Solstice and the VW Eos. |
Next-generation Honda Stream
There are rumors that this drawing might be the next-gen Stream. It is likely that Honda will base the Stream on the Civic, in fact the Stream possibly will be the Civic Wagon. Honda will likely use the engine, front end and interior from the Civic. |
Next-generation Honda CR-V
This is another chop of the CR-V. This is similar to the chop I posted one post earlier. This chop has the current model headlights and I don't think this would be the next-gen CR-V (the wheels are also the same). The shape of the CR-V is crossover-oriented. |
March photo of the month
This is a drawing of the next 2007 Honda CR-V. It looks like the current model of the StepWGN in Japan will say the next generation CR-V's front end. It also looks Honda is going to sleek way and the crossover way with the next CR-V. In my opinion ditch this car and go with a more RAV4-oriented way. |
Honda ZEST Base
This is Honda's base model of the ZEST. There is black door handles, wheel covers and brown pillar colours instead of the black colour on upscale models. |
Refreshed Honda That's
You can see that Honda just had refreshed the That's with a new front end and a new rear end and a refreshed interior. This vehicles is no longer competing with the Toyota Bb (Scion Bb) or the Nissan Cube because the new ZEST is now doing that job. |
Honda CRV 4WD
This is the C-RV sold in other markets. There is only a slight difference in the front grille, side turn signal and the roof antenna. This is the last year for the CRV in any market. |
2005 Honda Civic
The 2005 Civic is still in the market but only in the Phillipines. There are only some minor different interior and rear/front light changes. |
Honda City ZX
As I showed you before the Fit Sedan, this is the City ZX which is the same car. It is sold in Australia, parts of Asia and New Zealand. |
Honda Civic 5-door Hatch
This is the 5-door hatch version of the 2003-2005 US Honda Civic Si. There was a base 3-door version too but now that has been replaced by a new version. The 5-door still lingers until 2007 and is still sold in Europe and Australia. The whole car is roomy and is powered by the last year's Civic engine. It won the 2000-2001 Japan Car of the Year. |
Honda Beat
The Beat was a cute little convertible that was only sold in Japan. It was a mid-engine layout car and was imported to many continents. The Beat was a Kei car (K-car) is short for Kei Jidosha, which is Japanese for "light vehicle". By regulation they must be less than 3.4 metres long and 1.48 metres wide (smaller than a Mini), have an engine less than 660cc with no more than 64 horsepower. The Beat only had a 3-cylinder engine and had a factory 49 mpg. For standard features it's got things like a 5-speed manual, driver's side airbag, radio and air conditioning. However the decease of the car came in 1996 but there are still lots of there out there and exporting them wouldn't be a bad idea. |
Honda ASM
This was basically the grounds for the Elysion. It was unveiled at the 2003 Tokyo Auto Show. There was quite a lot of upscale luxury features on this model and it was priced so highly. |
Honda JMW
The name of this stands for Joyful Multi Mover. This picture was taken at the 1997 Tokyo Auto Show. This car was devired from the Logo platform. Later this car was named as the Honda Capa. |
Honda SSM
The name of this car is shortened for Sports study model. However in 1999 this study model turned into the fabulous S2000! Except for the front styling and the interior of course. |
Honda NSX
This was a pre-production model before the BIG NSX really arrived in 1990 and hit the markets with a boom! The NSX stands for New Sports Experimental. The NSX lasted in the markets for 15 years without major redesigns and that's why it went out of the market. Too old design and too high price led to the ashes. It only went through a freshning in 1997 and 2002. |
Honda FSX
The letters of this concept stands for Futuristic Sports Sedan. It was unveiled at the 1993 Tokyo Auto Show. A few years later Honda introduced the Vigor or in the states here it was called the Acura 2.5 or 3.0 TL. |
Honda V V Prototype
This was just a pre-production model of the Insight. However the seat material, radio and front and rear styling were different from the Insight. This was Honda's first ever mild hybrid but there was a "less than mild" hybrid before in the 90s called the Civic VX. But this vehicles only had two seats, rear wheels half covered and was the fuel mileage champ (still unbeated today). |
Honda EVX
This concept vehicle's name stands for Electric Vehicle Experiment. It was unveiled at the 1993 Tokyo Auto Show and it forecasted future electric vehicles from Honda to arrive in the market. It also paved the way for the EV Plus four years later. |
Honda FSR
The name of the FSR stands for Future Safety Research when it debut at the 1993 Tokyo Auto Show. At that time the FSR had state-of-the-art navigation system and a computer monitor that shows you the correct ways of driving and it had a screen on the back with messages. The seats were also high-tech which enabled you to fit because of the automatic settings that would seep in as soon as you would get in the car. |
Honda mh
This concept truck was dervied from the Acty Truck and the Vamos Van. It was basically a design ground for what Honda might make as of a truck in the future of its success in Japan. Honda engineers trashed this design later in 2002 as it looked too old and short. |
Honda Neukom
This concept car was designed and shown in 1999. It standed for New Communication but it was designed somewhere in Europe so these words really were from Neue Kommunikation. All the seats in this concept were able to swing around. |
1993 Honda Ascot
The third-generation of the Ascot was mainly a car for those who didn't like the flashy styling of the Ascot Innova and wanted a more upscale car than the Accord. This car was based mainly on the North American Acura Vigor/2.5 TL but with differences in styling and features offered. It went out of the market in 1996 due to the Accord racking up all of its sales. |
Honda Ascot Innova
In 1992 Honda introduced this car as a gateway to the Honda Accord in Japan. This car had won lots of design awards. However the demise of this product came in 1995. |
Honda Quint/Quintet and Acura Integra
You might remember this car as the Acura Integra but it was sold as the Quint or the Quintet in Japan the same years as this model design. Basically these cars were the same thing. However later in the early 90s Honda of Japan decided to change the Quint/Quintet name to just regular Integra as like in North America back then. There were a coupe, hatchback and a sedan model. |
Honda S-MX
The S-MX was introduced in 1995 at the Tokyo Motor Show. Honda called it as a "creative mover". However poor sales led to the ashes of this car in 1997. |
Honda Airwave
This is another one of those Japanese Honda images with front license plate that is California. Now this is Honda's newest wagon and it has won numerous design awards in Japan. This car also has a panoramic roof and seating for seven. The design of this car is mainly based on the Stream but mainly the Fit/Jazz. |
Honda ZEST
This is Honda's Japanese competitor to the Toyota Bb (Scion Bb). Now this car looks like a Scion Xa combined with the Xb which looks surprisingly weird and yet it looks pleasant. It is powered by a small 4 cylinder engine that has a famous name called the i-DSI and a i-DSI turbo charger. If Honda were to bring this to the market I would replace it with the ugly Element. |
2007 Japanese Honda Partner
Honda has finally paid attention and redesign the Partner which is almost a complete spin-off of the Airwave. However, there is the black bumpers, black door handles, black mirrors, black C-Pillar accent and the cheap looking steel wheels. The standard feature list is very short. There is no radio or A/C but it is a commercial vehicle. |
