Notable achievements in North America:
1987: Acura Legend and Integra go on sale. Legend/Legend Coupe voted as Best Import Sedan and Coupe from AJAC
1990: Acura's exotic sports car, NSX goes on sale.
1996: Acura introduces a wave of new cars: TL, RL, 1.6 EL in Canada, CL and Integra Type-R
2000: Acura's first SUV, MDX is introduced.
2001: New sports coupe, RSX replaces Integra
2004: New RL re-invents Luxury Car category
2006: Acura introduces another wave of new car: RDX, MDX, CSX/CSX Type-S in Canada, TL Type-S
Some of Acura's firsts are: first all-aluminum production automobile- Acura NSX, first in-dash satellite navigation system- Acura RL, first exclusive-to-Canada luxury automobile- Acura 1.6 EL, first luxury brand to design, engineer and assemble a car in North America- Acura CL, first standard DVD Audio Surround Sound System and Bluetooth wireless telephone interface- Acura TL and first application of Super-Handling All Wheel Drive or (SH-AWD)- Acura RL.
