Honda Odyssey (pre 1998 and 2002 versions)

American Honda first introduced the first generation Odyssey in 1994 but unlike many other vans in North America, it was downsized in power, and size. Put onto a Accord platform with a 2.2 litre 4 cylinder making 140 hp it was barely adequate for a wagon of this size. However Honda went the other way when redesigning the Odyssey in 1999 making it one of the biggest minivans in its class with a 3.5 litre V6 making 210 hp but in Europe there was only a refreshed version of the first generation Odyssey. The Europe version continued until 2002 where sales had been slipping but the North American version was redesigned last year with a 3.5 litre V6 making 255 hp. The Japanese version of the Odyssey was only a wagon-like van because of Japan's roads. But it still probably jogs people's mind when you ask them about the first generation Odyssey. It sold so little it is rare in the market today.
