ASIMO, Honda's humanoid robot, has finally impressed enough Hollywood producers to get his own show. The running, walking, talking, stair-climbing Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility (ASIMO) takes the stage at Honda's ASIMO Theater in the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland. You'll be treated to a 15-minute show in which ASIMO interacts with a live host and shows off how he will act when he finally makes it into private homes. Apparently, one of ASIMO's principal roles in our robotic future will be to "act as a servile companion to those most in need of physical assistance."

BREAKING! Honda Stream may appear in North America in 2009!
There are sources that are reporting that the next-generation Honda Stream may be sold in the U.S. Having just been redesigned last year, the next Stream won't arrive until 2009, and even then we doubt it will receive anything more than a refreshening. Nevertheless, Honda appears intent to make some money off of this MPV that's based on the same platform as the Civic and CR-V. It's been a big hit in Japan since it debuted in 2000, though the recent redesign has met with mixed reviews. Though the JDM version can seat up to seven or eight people, sources reports the U.S. version will probably get only two rows of seats. In Japan, the Stream is available with either a 1.8L i-VTEC engine and five-speed auto or a 2.0L i-VTEC engine mated to a CVT transmission. Whether those engines will be offered in the U.S. in unknown, though we would expect at least the larger of the two motors to make the journey to our shores. Considering Honda's success with the Odyssey in the minivan segment, the Stream may do very well in the U.S. It appears smaller than a minivan, but larger than a Mazda5. The current trend of segment-bending tall wagons and CUVs could carry the Stream right along.

UPDATE ON CANADIAN CSX/CIVIC NEWS:
There will be a 2008 Canadian Acura CSX with two models, Premium and Type-S. The former Canadian Acura CSX Base/Touring model with be replaced by a lower priced Canadian edition of the Honda Civic EX-L (EX with Leather). At this moment it is unsure whether or not there will be a Canadian Honda Civic Si Sedan for Canadians because it would directly affect sales of the Canadian Acura CSX Type-S.
Other changes for the Canadian Honda Civic is that A/C is now a seperate, optional option for the DX and the DX-G model remains in Canada. There may be an optional navigation for US ONLY HONDA CIVIC EX, Canadian/US Honda Civic EX-L and Canadian/US Honda Civic Si. Other changes for the 2008 Honda Civic in North America is a 60/40 spilt folding rear seat on all models except for DX (previously the 60/40 spilt was only standard on EX), a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System on all models and a new Civic Si MUGEN model for US.

Honda Civic Hybrid
The Honda Civic Hybrid has been named Germany's most ecological car by the respected Verkehrsclub Deutschland which is a major transport and environment organization in Germany in its Envriomental Car Ratings for 2007/2008. As part of its rating process the VCD sought out the quietest vehicles with the lowest fuel consumption and the lowest level of emissions. The Civic Hybrid met all the organization’s requirements for environmental compatibility and comfortable driving, and it was highly rated for its outstanding quietness. This is the second year running that the VCD has chosen the Civic Hybrid as its environmental winner. In 2006 the vehicle beat 350 contenders to secure the coveted first place in the VCD Environmental Car Ratings. In addition, the judges rated the Civic Hybrid as the top car in the compact class. The Civic Hybrid is the latest embodiment of Honda's long-term commitment to the development of environmentally friendly technologies that are also fun to drive. The vehicle combines a 95 HP petrol engine with a 20 HP electric motor. In addition, the internal combustion engine is switched off when the car comes to a stop. These factors contribute greatly to the reduction of fuel consumption and emissions, particularly in city traffic. With a standard fuel consumption of 4.6 litres per 100 km (51.13 mpg) and emissions of 109 grams of CO2 per km (174.4 g/mile), its performance is significantly within future statutory emission and fuel economy limits.
